We would like to warmly welcome our new Canteen Manager, Michelene Rizk. Misha and her family will be commencing their full canteen service on Wednesday 1 May (with over the counter snacks and drinks only, available on Tuesday 30 April). Have a look at the new canteen menu linked below.
Hello Claremont College Community,
We are pleased to be able introduce ourselves as the team behind your new canteen.
We are a family owned business with over 40 years of hospitality experience between us (a lot of which involved feeding children - be it our own or families like yours).
This year, we plan to introduce the students, parents and staff of Claremont College, our vision of a healthy, fun and interactive canteen.
Please feel free to drop in, say 'hi', meet the family (one of us will always be there) and get to know who will be filling your child's tummies and keeping them well nourished.
We are all very excited to work with the Claremont community and look forward to your feedback, suggestions, and friendly chats.
Mischa & Family
Commencing on the first Tuesday of Term 2 (30 April), the School will send all children to our OOSH Service 'Team Kids' if they arrive at school prior to 8:15am, and/or if they are collected after 3:30pm. Team Kids will bill parents accordingly, and according to their scheduled fees and charges. We acknowledge how difficult the local traffic and recent roadworks have become for us all, so as a way of supporting our parent community, your children can now be dropped off at school from 8:15am. There will be no fee associated with this. The children must head to the playground area where they will be supervised by staff until 8:30am before heading off to their classroom after this time.
Here is a link to Team Kids for you to register your child. The school will strictly enforce these times.
There are a large number of items most of which are not labelled (uniform items, clothing, lunch boxes and drink bottles) in our Lost Property. The school office will be open on Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm if you would like to call in to collect your child/ren’s items. Or, please come and collect items by the end of Week 1 of Term 2. At the beginning of Week 2 all unclaimed items will be taken to a charity bin and unclaimed items of school uniform will be used as spares in sick bay.
The 2020 Term Dates are now available on the school website.
Term 2 Sport information and registration form have been made available on your Parent Portal. Please remember to register online for all morning/lunchtime activities as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as some sports have limited positions, particularly infants programs. Programs commence from Week 2.

We always have a lot of activities going on before and after school. Here is an outline of what happens day to day. If you would like any information on any of the activities, please visit the school website.
You are reminded that all children will return to school in Term 2 IN THEIR SUMMER UNIFORM. This is because it usually remains too warm during the early part of May for the winter uniform. The children can, of course, wear their vest or blazer for warmth, particularly when travelling to or from school. Children may also wear their jumpers when they are in their classrooms or in the playground and under their blazers if it is cold. Children may not wear their school jumper without their blazer to and from school. The official changeover date for winter uniform is Monday 20 May; however, there will be a two week leeway with this date depending on the weather so that if cold, students may commence wearing full winter uniform from Monday 6 May. Either summer or full winter uniform is therefore permitted for those two weeks.
If you have not already done so, please ensure that your child has been measured up for his/her winter uniform and that orders have been placed at Wylies.
If you haven’t already advised us that you are attending our School’s ANZAC service, please let us know by completing the following LINK.

By popular demand, this year we have invited Chelsea Pottenger to come back for another Mums (and Friends) night, in May. Again this year, we will offer our Claremont Mums to invite a friend if this is something you would like to do, to extend our community beyond our immediate families. So that we can make May the month to focus of Mums this year, we will have our usual:
Please note this will not be a repeat of last year’s workshop, but a new evening of warmth, energy, friendship and mindfulness.
The cost of the evening will be $50 (including supper). To book your spot please click HERE to to book.
Last year Chelsea was a great hit:
It was a real treat hearing Chelsea’s talk on Wednesday evening, she was so authentic and shared some simple but highly effective strategies on how we can better manage stress in our lives and live to be the best version of ourselves. I think all the mums and teachers in the room left with a greater sense of connectedness with each other and gratitude. Katy Rowden
It was lovely to meet some other Claremont Mums and staff, and also som Kindy Mums of 2019. The company was lovely, the night was well planned and entertaining with a lovely supper and wine accompaniment. Interesting story from Chelsea, a fantastic ambassador for mental health and mindfulness, hopefully we can instil some grace and generosity in our kids. Thanks to everyone who was involved in making the night a success, especially the Claremont staff. Look forward to the next one! Debbie Lattin
Chelsea was so easy to listen to, and had so many practical tips for all of us to apply. I also loved the opportunity to chat to other mums in our school. It was truly a lovely night! I hope to see many more like this. Betty Preshaw
Thank You Chelsea for sharing your courageous journey, truly inspiring ...and for providing me with new insights into self care. Kim Ogle
It was a lovely informal and welcoming event for school staff , current mums and new Kindy mums to mingle, share stories about their children and school experiences over a nice glass of champagne and nibbles. Very nice catering by the way. The guest speaker Chelsea was a nice addition to the event , she was very engaging focusing on women's issues that we all could share our own stories together with her guidance on self help strategies the we can take away and apply in our daily life. Overall a pleasant experience for me and I look forward to our next "mums night" get together. Christina Marks
I am so grateful that I went to the Mums Mindfulness Evening on Wednesday night at Claremont to hear and meet Chelsea Pottenger. What a beautiful, brave and honest woman! Her story is so inspiring and you could hear a pin drop in the hall the entire time she spoke. I love how she turned her life around and has now obviously found her calling in helping others. I would strongly recommend Chelsea returns for the mums that missed out. She is so straight to the point and offers simple tips we could all use. As mums we are great at organising the fun mums night outs but this is so much more than that. I’m sure everyone went home motivated. Victoria Giannikouris
